Major Electricity Associations Support UPLC Annual Conference Washington, D.C. – The American Public Power Association, Edison Electric Institute and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association have joined the Utilities Telecom Council to support the United Power Line Council's(UPLC) Annual Conference, Broadband Power Line 2007. Their support illustrates the support of the electricity industry for the value of continued education in the critical Broadband over Power Lines (BPL)issue as a technology helping the next-generation utility. Broadband Power Line 2007, scheduled for September 18 – 21, 2007 at the Fairmont Dallas in Dallas, TX, brings together leading industry experts to discuss the current and future state of BPL. Highlights of the program include sessions on how BPL supports Smart Grid technology, Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology and overall electric reliability.
